Bucks celebrates outstanding National Student Survey success
Buckinghamshire New University and Bucks Students' Union are celebrating another exceptional year in the National Student Survey (NSS), with both organisations achieving impressive results that highlight the strength of the student experience at Bucks.
The 2026 NSS saw Bucks New University climb an impressive 23 places in the UK rankings for student positivity. Averaged across all survey questions, BNU is now ranked 39th in the UK for student positivity among students taught on its campuses, while for all registered students (including those studying with partner institutions), the University ranks 8th in the UK.
The University also achieved strong results across several key areas, placing 15th in the UK for Assessment and Feedback, 44th for Teaching on my Course, and 46th for Learning Opportunities. Overall, BNU improved across all nine core themes measured by the survey and scored above the sector average in seven of them.
Alongside the University's success, Bucks Students' Union continues its remarkable record of excellence. The Students' Union has been ranked 4th in the UK for taught students, marking the 10th consecutive year it has been recognised as one of the UK's Top 5 Students' Unions. It also ranked 6th for registered students out of 137 Students' Unions nationwide.
Student satisfaction with the Students' Union also continued to rise, increasing from 83.5% in 2025 to 85.4% in 2026—an impressive 6.7 percentage points above the UK sector average.
